Panoramic Plunge

This site is right at the top of Siglap / Opera Estate hill and its summit enjoys panoramic views of the East Coast and CBD. Sited almost at the top of this road, the house is essentially a long rectangular form cantilevered off steel columns which form the first storey. A lean-to form at the back houses two playrooms on the first storey; a study and the children’s bedrooms on the second; and an attic lounge on the third. The solid second storey form floats across the living, dining and dry kitchen areas which are fully open on three sides to enjoy the landscaped garden of this bungalow site. A 15m long lap and plunge pool has been placed on the attic roof terrace, enabling panoramic views to the city and beyond. Water reflections through three circular skylights inside the floor of the pool serve to illuminate the master wardrobe and family room on the second storey, and the dining area on the first storey through a two-storey void. A discrete basement with parking for up to three cars completes the ensemble.
